He exposed the NSA, not the CIA.

NSA was the one doing the mass surveillance but Im not sure what counter measures were taken.

How is life there overall? Is there a lot of crime? Are people generally happy? Ive also heard that there are wars going on at least in some parts of Africa (dont remember which places in Africa), how bad are they and how much truth is there to them since media is known to lie and exaggerate things?
