Right because engagement with Russia and China worked out so well.
We want to be friends with India because they make our stuff for cheap.

I had forgotten that completely or blocked it out of my memory so I could live happily.

It's so campy I don't know how anyone can unironically hate it, but people can fairly call it too dumb. Hasselhoff stopping to catch his breath after three steps in slomo was kinda the signature. Either you though that was hilarious or dumb.

Apropos of not much, but absurdism is actually a philosophical movement while transgressivism and for example surrealism are more like styles.

Reply to Why do Hollywood movies that criticize Hollywood itself or capitalism usually end up portraying it as awesome? by MentalDespairing
I've seen a few people mention the post-scarcity economy lately. I don't know why its suddenly become a thing. We clearly are far from that.
I think the floppiness of Babylon can be explained by the fact that the public isn't nearly as interested in Hollywood as Hollywood is.

The market has no humanity but we trust it to establish the worth of humans. It's a giant category error that explains the nonsense we feel all around us. People talk about this being the worst timeline, the lack of humanity is why it is.

When did Friedman do the thing? 72 I think it was. WWII was a near death experience for the world that led to an era of egalitarianism for a time, but the greedy never give up.

Films get greenlit by rich dudes, and rich dudes have a unified narrative: the Friedman Doctrine. Aka nobody except shareholders matter. It's a system of morality if you can believe it.

I guess it started from the premise that a sports agent's job is interesting enough to make a movie about. Then they added stuff to make it actually interesting.
