Reply to Seriously enjoyed the first episode of "The Power" on Amazon Prime. The series is based on a 2017 novel about how the world radically changes when millions of teenage girls suddenly develop electrical superpowers. Notably, none of them put on costumes and start fighting crime. by TJ_Fox
I always find it funny that the message about power corrupting regardless of gender needs to be spelled out at all.

It’s because the general public loves action thrillers and is always crying out for more of them.

I don’t think an expensive period piece filming on ships/water will be brought back when the industry is tightening its belt.

So they already have a majority of women on staff and the new hires are even more skewed towards women? How diverse!

Huh, it’s almost like people watch whatever’s new on Netflix regardless of quality!
None of the people in this show are draws for the men who are expected to watch it. I have zero doubt that it will do worse than the Terminal List and Jack Ryan. JMO, of course

Lol. WBD is still one of a handful of big players who greenlight the sort of television that people actually watch and also have decades of production experience unlike Netflix and Amazon, etc…. only a moron wouldn’t want to work with them if offered the chance. Even Lisa Hanawalt would but knows that it isn’t going to happen.
