Reply to Surprise! China's top Android phones collect way more info - Best to revisit that plan to bring home a cheap OnePlus, Xiaomi, Oppo, or Realme handset from your holiday by speckz
During the "3G" launch in the US, my parents used a non-internet plan on their phone. They stayed on the system grandfathered for a looong time.
Bought a cheap Chinese Android phone some time later, found out they had a 4000$ phone bill because for some reason the phone was sending some data somewhere to China.
Ended up reporting it to FBI, but I doubt anything came of it.

Reply to comment by FinalSagan in New study (n = 15,764) shows repeated concussions are linked to worse brain function in later life by unswsydney
My last concussion when I was like 12 took out my vision in my peripherals. I was also having some weird side-effect where when I tried to read words, I knew what I was reading, but when I would say them out loud the wrong ones would come out.
My parents didn't know at the time you're not supposed to nap when you have a concussion, so I napped and then woke up fine.

Reply to comment by No_Woodpecker_7774 in Meta must pay $175M for patent-infringing livestreaming tech, judge says by OutlandishnessOk2452
I would love to read the original patent. As much as I hate Meta whenever I see shit like this I think "Patent Trolls", and your summary makes it sound like they literally patented "Redundancies to avoid failure", which seems too obvious to patent.
