Hello! I live in Northfield currently :) we aren’t close to Burlington or Killington (it’s about an hour to both), but we do have Norwich University right at the end of central street in town.
We have lovely parks, and a close knit community. Our library is super cool, public pool is great in the summer, and as someone who moved up here about three years, I think the people are absolutely lovely.
We are a VERY small town. It’s quiet in the winter and summer and generally picks up once school starts. There are a bunch of places to swim within 5 miles of the square, and O’Maddis is an AMAZING place to eat.
It may seem small, but nowhere is ever insignificant ;) Norwich is the oldest private military college in the country, and it’s grounds and gym are open to the public, as well as the Kreitsburg library and all of the athletic fields. ROTC kids often ruck around town in the morning and are usually pretty unproblematic.
I genuinely like the town and if you’re ok with being a bit off the beaten path, I think you’d like it.
