Reply to Dyed Hair in the Workplace by Ok_Bluebird_292
Having blue hair is probably a job requirement for an art education director.
To be serious, I work at a school and most of the art teachers and drama teachers have alternative hair colors. It’s not a big deal around here in certain jobs. If you were a lawyer, it might be hard, but your field is filled with folks with similar fashion sense and do not care about hair color stuff like that.

Honestly, getting the kid out of the classroom for a day is for the other 25 kids in the room and the teacher. For example, if a kid was using abusive language toward another student or a teacher, having a breathing day without that kid in the room to possibly do it again is a much needed break for everyone.

There’s no replacement for the consequence though. Schools don’t have the trained personnel to counsel these at-risk kids who probably need a psychiatrist and some type of medication.

This is included in the law. It’s ANY suspension, even the in-school ones, which is why the law is ridiculous.

Yeah, dude. It’s like saying any music artist who ever used sampling is a plagiarist. Back then, it was different. You were basically flexing if you knew about this obscure Etruscan myth and were adding the translation or references into your poem.

Yes, but he was one of the people who defined modernism and he’s T.S. Eliot.
Memory all alone in the moonlight.
Dude was hilarious. Anyway, there was actually a lot of debate about using others’ works without crediting them back then. These writers intended it to be more of an homage than straight up plagiarism.
For example, Auden’s The Sea and the Mirror is basically The Tempest fanfiction, but it’s brilliant for so many reasons that makes it literary art on its own. Allusions to other work was a trademark of modernism. Commenting on tropes and breaking the fourth wall is when modernism starts to fade and post-modernism becomes in vogue.

That whole area has gone downhill. They are building housing there to house the the unhoused people hanging out there all day though. It’s a complex situation because some of the folks can be dangerous - someone who was high and rambling nonsense followed my mom to her car once, and she hasn’t been back since it scared her. That doesn’t mean the police should just not address emergency situations there though. It’s inhumane.

I have no idea which woman he is referring to. He broke up with a girl who has codependency issue and BPD, but he screwed up because he gave a second woman money for a flight change?
Also, which woman is the one with the crazy family. I have absolutely no idea what this person is saying. The story has no chronology or character names.

I had been avoiding going to Honey Pot in Stow because everyone says how crowded it is, but I went recently. And you know what? It was crowded, but parking was easy. There was a line for donuts, but they had so many people working that I only waited 7 minutes.

Reply to Shipments of contaminated waste to resume from Ohio train derailment site by WhoIsJolyonWest
Dumb question, but where is this hazardous waste from? Is there a better way to dispose of it? And, do we actually need to make whatever results in this type of dangerous waste or is it just something we think we need?
