It’s a bit premature to be celebrating, but considering most homicides occur among individuals who know one another and have a history, targeted efforts by community members who know the players can have an impact.

If you have the entire 1st or 2nd floor of a townhouse you can get the dimensions of the footprint of the building by visiting the SDAT website and doing a Real Property Search. Then subtract out common areas such as the hallway, etc.

I would consider the detached houses in the 2600 block of St Paul Street to fit your second definition of townhouse even though they are brick.
On another note, a pet peeve is the use of the term single family home in place of detached. I mean we’re the only family living in this row house.

Reply to What does “are you hacking?” mean when asked by pedestrians in the city? by Vysokojakokurva_C137
I’m reminded of the time when Martin O’Malley was Mayor traveling down Harford Rd and he saw someone with his arm extended flapping his hand waiting for a hack. O’Malley had his driver pull over and opened the window to confront the person thinking he was a drug dealer. This incident revealed that he wasn’t as street smart as he portrayed himself to be.

I had lunch at By The Docks as part of Baltimore County Restaurant Week earlier this month. The 3-course crabcake lunch special for $23 was great. I plan to return for some of their weeknight specials.

You have to be careful. Sometimes updating the public record can result in an increased tax assessment.

There is usually a lapse of several months time between settlement and water bills being addressed to the new owner. You can go online and look up the account by address. Even if bills are still being sent to the old owner they are a lien against your home.

That’s it. The greater the sense of ownership of public spaces the higher the standard of acceptable behavior.

Whenever I walk past a parked police car I look to see what the occupant is doing. Less than 10% of the time they are paying attention to activity on the street and their surroundings. At least half the time they’re looking at their phones.

Exactly. And generally the perpetrators and victims don’t see the police as a resource.
