Seems like a potential conflict of interest, considering his ties to Waterville Valley. He already proved he has no qualms about treating his own mountain differently to get an edge over the surrounding areas when he loosened covid regulations early at Waterville and not the others. Waterville also benefited from Covid relief money, and worst of all, he designated it as a special zone that basically made it a tax haven for investors. It’s hard to trust any legislation in the state that involves him and any ski area

Yikes! Looks likely that a whole population originated from there, I can’t think of another explanation. It’s shocking such an invasive species wouldn’t be allowed to be hunted. This would have been late 80’s/ early 90’s she saw it. Ps I like your username, I too hate those little buggers

What’s up with that? I’ve lived in NH my whole life and I’ve always had this view of Vermonters as mellow and nice people, but damn! I recently moved close to the Connecticut and the amount of green plates tailgating me and driving like impatient assholes is out of control. I don’t understand what the rush is, we live in a rural area, everyone just needs to relax

The safest thing you can do as a driver is to be predictable. But I’d say if this is op’s biggest gripe, they’re in a much better place, hopefully they can leave the Florida in Florida. Just relax and enjoy the slower pace

I think I know what place your probably staying at, near the old Munsonville post office. I’ve stayed in a “school year lease” rental twice on Granite, it’s an awesome lake! I loved it because I’m a big ice fisherman and Granite has lake and rainbow trout. I would put traps out and sit in my living room watching tv.

You have the Monadnock-Sunapee Greenway trail go right by the north end of the lake. Going South takes you into Nelson and eventually Mt Monadnock, North to Washington and eventually Mt Sunapee. There’s a guide you can probably find at Toadstool books in Keene or Peterborough

I second Willard Pond, and bald mountain next to it. Also Mt Skatutakee and the Harris Center trails in Hancock. Pitcher Mt is cool, you could actually walk there and back right from your door on the Greenway, with a waterfall on the way.

I recommend this book, it’s about a hermit that lived off the end of Aten Rd on the back side of the lake

Yeah haven’t three people died on that ridge already this winter? Lafayette’s tough in the winter, for me it was tougher than Washington but that really depends on the conditions. Anything above tree line can turn bad quick in the winter, especially on the Franconia Ridge where bad weather comes blind over Cannon
