True. That would make life easier for you!

But if he doesn't pay, it's not like you could take him to court. lol How would you explain that? "Your Honor, he owes me $xx because every full moon he shows up demanding his tributary taxes, and then tries to break down my front door and wreck my porch!"

Because he think he's more important than he actually is, and wants to effect some Great Change in the world before he passes, as any kind of legacy. It's the same reason he went after a woman who was above him, better than him, but didn't share his faith: he had to try to change and reshape her.

That's what he's trying to do now: make any kind of mark on the world before he's no longer in it.

Nah...further update says that he actually kind of hated her growing up, and resented how close she was with her mother.

While alternately, he was close to her brothers, while their mother was cold, distant, and demanding of the boys.

Which kind of explains Jeremy's feelings for her. Kind of... aside from the big ick factor...

Problem is...you already took what he was offering.

Twice. And apparently only one was a freebie.

Never make deals with a devil without having the entire contract spelled out in advance.

I really am worried about what this sleeping thing is gonna turn out to be...but I am glad it's not Aleksei.

(And now that your eyes aren't lifeless, well...sounds like he might be circling back to what he said before...)

Ah! I missed that; I think I got distracted by something and didn't finish reading that particular post...

Still...how long has he had the rabbit, and how did he capture it? He had to know what it was when he came across it, especially since the cage itself had bindings on it.

It's still sickening to me.

Now I think we might know where Jeremy gets it.

That a father would want to hurt his own child like that though...it's sickening. Especially since...gods, how old were you when the rabbit was lost?! Has he had it ever since then?!

Or did he trap it while you slept, and that's why it was lost?!

Ugh. I thought my family was screwed up (it is, though...)
