He plays his character exactly how he was written. Dudes jaded, lost his wife and child, being told somehow it’s his or his wife’s fault and he isn’t in God’s Grace and he spends the entire movie truly wondering if this city is worth the lives of so many women and children in the name of a God he’s not entirely sure he believes in.
As far as being a jaded knight goes, I believe him. Especially in the end when he absolutely spanks Guy and walks away.

Ridley said he purposely did the changes to tell a more enticing story.
Which in his defense, it is that.

I make an effort to rewatch this one at least once a year. One of my favorite historical epics.

Idk, I thought it was fine. The sequels weren’t great so for me it wasn’t much of a loss.

Because it’s an inherent parody. WB was going to move along without them and Lana basically said nope, I’ll do it.
And instead of continuing the story thoughtfully she made a parody on reboots and remakes. I like that it was kind of an unintended nail in the coffin for the series.

Once I realized the newest one was a parody of itself to keep WB from moving the franchise forward without the Wachowskis, I appreciated it more. It’s absolutely just poking fun at itself.

It has nothing to do with attention span. I love 3 hour movies, but I also have kids. A 3 hour movie is a hell of an endeavor to take on in my spare time.
