I think it's so you can replace the foam, tbh...
A lot of modern sofas have a plasticky lining on the sofa cushion covers that also doesn't wash well.

I believe it's not true that it has to be 24 hours. If they have reason to believe that you should be somewhere and can't be found, you're missing and it can be reported.
However once it's explained they can look like fools to the police, and possibly be charged for the callout.

No that's because of contact friction.
Basically at interstellar scales everything is jelly. It doesn't all move together because it squidges and bends before that could happen.

Refuelling the early gas cars was a huge pain - you had to go buy a can of gas at the shop! And hope they had one!
There were apparently often street power points to charge electric cars outside major shops in the cities to compensate for the hilariously small range the first electrics had (30 miles is probably an over estimate!)
In other words, both kinds of car were "a bit shit" to start with. It's widely accepted that ironically it was the electric starter that won it for the combustion engine, but I imagine the development of filling stations helped too, Vs no real progress in battery technology for a century on the electric side.

For what it's worth - it's two different blues!
The positive primary (light) is "royal blue", and the negative primary (paint, ink) is "sky" blue.
Children's paint sets regularly get this wrong...

Watching a screen doesn't inherently hurt eyes - but it can cause them to harden into a short focal length rather than a long one when they age.

Steel is ~6000 kWh/ton to produce. My home solar array has so far produced 26000 kWh. I think they'll be fine.

To add to what others are saying, if the problem is chemical contamination you fix it by distillation, aka more boiling.

It's because it goes to 12 on one hand, then 5 on the other, and then if you go higher it does 12 again then 5 again. You can think of that as going to 60 on both hands, then 60 again, rather than alternating 12 and 5.
e.g. 12×5 (60) seconds, then 12×5 (60) minutes, then 12 hours
Really it's an alternating base 12/5 number system though.

Or in other words 0.2 square meters, aka 2000 square centimetres, or 2.22 square feet.

If you have a phone in portrait mode you probably don't have many more pixels than that for a video.
I've done it a few times scrolling comments while the video played.

There's some good information on that topic in this YouTube video talking about YouTube experimenting with requiring a subscription for viewing at 4k, by someone that runs a major YouTube channel and small side streaming network (that does support 4k also).
It was about 44% penetration for 4k TVs, but for his content, TVs only made up 11% of viewers in total.
I suspect Netflix has more TV streamers so it would be different for them.

Yeah at present a 1080p blu ray is a better picture than a 4k stream, because streams are compressed to hell.

Yeah it's bloody confusing that they put the label for Bing on top of Google's section, and then covered up most of Google's section with a second graph.
