Single parent families are mostly the result of government policies that said a woman and her children could not get welfare if there was a man present in the home.

There is certainly a danger of Singulatarianism devolving into some sort of Millerite cult.

I usually advise trying to live one's life normally with an awareness that certain job categories will be easily replaced by automation in the not-too-distant future.

If the poor are trying to kill the rich, then that will be all the motivation they need.

They won't use a blunt instrument like a "robot army". An engineered virus for which only they are vaccinated, nanobots the clog arteries or a poison for which they only have the antidote are far more likely scenarios. I read a novel recently where robots poisoned all the fresh water with lead.

Reply to When will AI actually start taking jobs? by Weeb_Geek_7779
Even when the technology is ready it will take time for businesses to adapt. There will be a wait and see trial period while most businesses see how the technology works with early adopters. It still may be only when AI gives user businesses a significant competitive advantage that there will be widespread adoption.
