Reply to You’ve just won the lottery and now get 5k/month for the rest of your life. What do you do? by modeezy23
This is an interesting question because it’s not a massive amount of money, but basically just enough to live on without having to work.
I would find a part time job that I enjoy, perhaps only 2 days a week.
And the rest of that time try to work on my own personal creative projects that I don’t ever feel I have the time or energy to work on.
And watching lots of movies.

Okay… what does it mean then? You told OP it’s super basic but haven’t cared to describe what it is?

Literally just put text on a black screen at the end of the video with that info. Hold it there for 5-10 secs. Don’t make it upside down.

Because the Tomatometer is not a rating system.
They actually so show the average rating when you click on the score for more info, but no one really talks about that.

6/10 is still positive but if you were expecting an 8+/10 then it’s still disappointing too.

There’s just something fun about having a favourite franchise that always has another movie coming out for you to look forward to.

1 in 10 would be a shit ton of movies.
I think it’s closer to 1 in 100.

I don’t like the weird vibes at the end that implies that the predominantly white rich folk aboard their ships made by exploited Tibetan & Chinese workers are going to start a new colony on the continent of Africa which has now risen above the sea, presumably after millions of its citizens were drowned.

If movies aren’t doing it for you, try Summoning Salt’s speedrun history videos on YouTube. Took me like 6 nights to get through his latest video. They are very well made but very relaxing and perfect for me to fall asleep to.

You should definitely check out the other nominees. I’ve seen all of them except for Elvis and really liked them all.

More importantly is what the movie was shot on.
If they didn’t shoot it for IMAX then there’s not really any advantage when Dolby is likely to have the better experience overall.
Always check the IMDB tech specs to see what format the film is in.

You make it sound like it was still sub-par…
But I honestly think Soul is Pixar’s best movie, and my second favourite animated movie ever.

Narnia no question.
The Hobbits combined into a 3-4 hour movie is alright, but I’m never watching them individually again.

Reply to This probably sounds stupid, but how do you guys watch all of your movies? by Mindless_Bad_1591
I watch movies mostly by renting or purchasing on iTunes. They have most things I have ever wanted to watch.
There’s honestly not a lot of great movie selection on the popular streaming services.
Mubi or Criterion Collection are good though.
But tbh I watch as many movies as I can at the cinemas, especially at film festivals as sometimes those movies never have a life on digital.

After you watch a couple films / episodes with subs you get used to it and it won’t feel like an effort to be readings the subs.

It’s still the original actors giving the performance though, and matching what they did on set.

Weird, I can’t imagine not being enthralled by your theatre experience of Top Gun, unless it was a pretty cheap small theatre? That film for me absolutely makes best use of the cinema experience.
