yeah, my next six-month renewal is going up to $764.14, so it's gonna cost an extra $13 a month.

I really can't complain, when I swapped out my lease four months ago, surprisingly my insurance rate didn't change.

still.. $400 more a year is steep. you say you just moved, maybe it's that, something about where you now live that has a higher accident rate or car theft is through the roof, or anything really that makes payouts higher where you are.

it certainly sounds like the increase is based on where a person lives & works.

edit: my vehicle is insured with usaa.

Can confirm. When they stopped issuing the stickers I was guaranteed to be pulled over when I drove into Maryland. Cops wanted to snag me for an expired registration, and it took an unbelievable amount of time for the officer(s) to figure out that if the registration card says current, the plate is current.

Finally got tired of it and removed all the old stickers - guess what happened the next time I went down? Yup, pulled over for NOT having a reg sticker. Same routine checking out if my registration card was legit.. MD State Troopers, local cops in NorthEast and Elkton are not very smart.

I don't know if it's gotten any better as I sold my boat just before covid hit, and haven't had a reason to go back.

no, it's not strange, it's normal for them.. everyone in my family, except me of course, are MAGA Republicans, and unfortunately a few life-long friends fell under the MAGA spell.

whenever I would confront one of them with unassailable proof that whatever they were just spouting was a total lie fabricated out of whole cloth, to a person their reaction is the same - they freeze and don't say a word..

it's like their body jumps as if scared or shocked and their brain just shuts off.. I guess to prevent the truth from sinking in and fixing some of their brain damage or something.

only if one belongs to the correct Christian sect..

Catholics, Lutherans, Presbyterians, Methodists, Congregationalists, Anabaptists, Quakers, and other mainstream Protestant denominations need not apply, as they are all the "wrong" form of Christianity to those Trumpist kooks.

and we all know what the "correct" Christian is - it's whatever the Trumpist kook of the day/week/month says it is, and it's a guarantee it's not any mainstream version of Christianity, or any sane one at that.
