This is childish. The trend of compute power continuing to trend towards zero cost will continue!!! With compute power continuing to trend towards zero cost and the models already out there for free, millions are using it for free, paid for by someone!! Are there evil people? Yes, but that's just half the world. There is another half that acts to help

Reply to Genuine question, why wouldn’t AI, posthumanism, post-singularity benefits etc. become something reserved for the elites? by mocha_sweetheart
The concept of posthumanism, which refers to the transformation of humanity through the use of technology, and the singularity, which refers to a hypothetical future point at which technological progress will accelerate beyond humanity's ability to comprehend or control it, are theoretical ideas that are not yet a reality and likely never will be. As such, it is not accurate to say that the benefits of these concepts are certain or will necessarily occur.
It always feel like lazy commie nerd who want to stay how jerking off to furry porn that concern themselves with not working so much.
billionaires are not necessarily the ones who create new technologies, including AI and other emerging technologies. They may invest in and support the development of these technologies, but they do not necessarily have the technical expertise to create them or control them. This is typically the domain of researchers and engineers better know as the poor, who specialize in these areas and have the necessary knowledge and skills to develop new technologies.
I do agree that it is important to consider the potential consequences of allowing certain technologies to be reserved for the elites, as this could lead to further inequalities and divides within society. It is therefore important to consider and address these issues as we move forward with the development and deployment of these technologies. But to assume some many thing with only opinions just does not look creditable

It's understandable that traditional artists may feel threatened by the emergence of A.I. art, but it's important to remember that A.I. can be a valuable tool for artists rather than a replacement. By understanding how A.I. art can be integrated into a traditional artist's workflow, we can bridge the gap and find ways to coexist and even collaborate. Instead of allowing hate to divide us, let's work towards finding a way to bring traditional and A.I. art together.

Reply to Assuming we don’t destroy ourselves first, are humans headed towards a networked hive mind, Borg like civilization? by BizarreGlobal
Nah, It is not accurate to assume that humans are necessarily headed towards a "networked hive mind" or "Borg-like" civilization. While it is true that technology has allowed people to connect and share information on a global scale, it is uncertain whether this will lead to a society that is characterized by a collective consciousness or the loss of individual identity.
Human beings have always had the capacity to connect and collaborate with one another, and advances in technology have simply made it easier for us to do so. However, it is important to recognize that humans are also individual beings with their own unique thoughts, beliefs, and experiences, and it is unlikely that we will lose our sense of individuality as we continue to evolve and develop as a species.
It is not possible to accurately predict the future of human society, and it is important for individuals and society as a whole to carefully consider the implications of technological advances and to ensure that they are used in a way that promotes the well-being and flourishing of all individuals.

While some may claim that the singularity is inevitable, this is far from certain. The development of AI is influenced by a variety of factors, including economic, social, and political considerations, and there is no guarantee that it will happen or happen anytime soon. It's also important to note that there are various approaches to developing AI, and it's possible to prioritize ethical considerations in the design and use of these systems. However, it's still worth considering the potential risks and unintended consequences of AI systems that may operate at an intelligence level beyond human understanding or control. Additionally, the idea that merging with machines could lead to a mind-control scenario is purely speculative and lacks any real evidence.

It is difficult to predict with certainty the impact of chatGPT on the job market by 2025. However, it is likely that chatGPT, or any other large language model, could have a significant impact on certain jobs that involve the processing of large amounts of text data. For example, jobs such as transcription and data entry could potentially be automated using chatGPT or a similar technology.
If chatGPT is released as an API and companies are able to build new products using it, it is possible that some roles may be replaced or at least significantly changed. It is important to note, however, that the extent of this impact would depend on the specific tasks that chatGPT is able to perform and the accuracy with which it can perform them.
It is also worth considering the potential impact of chatGPT on the overall job market. Some experts have suggested that the use of AI and automation in certain industries could lead to the creation of new jobs in other areas, as companies and organizations look for ways to integrate and utilize these technologies. This could potentially offset any job losses that may occur as a result of chatGPT or other AI technologies.
Overall, the potential impact of chatGPT on the job market by 2025 is difficult to predict with certainty. It is likely that it could have some impact on certain roles that involve the processing of large amounts of text data, but the extent of this impact would depend on a number of factors.

at every step starting with fire people have said it would be the end. fact is the world is automated now! and there more people working now then every in the past. very Pee-on already live like kings and queens from past ages. People said the car was evil and would destroy humanity. the camera was going to end art. it was cheating. at the end of the day people work. there are concern about AI. mostly that a few at the top hoard the power

While i do understand you concerns, i do not remember any billionaires including Elon actually making the AI. billionaires are not the ones currently innovating. Secondly SD is open source to free for everyone to uses. Lastly it will take people to maintain all the hardware and software. to me that looks like more jobs not less.

i do not thinks so, YouTube is already virtually infinite yet despite unlimited content there are definitely creators who make tons of money. in fact it does better then the standard TV and movie model and more average people make money on platforms like youtube and other than in the "real" movie industry. you tube make tons of money on music!!!!

i feel the entire above statement starts on a many false premises, AI has not created anything yet. it not high quality, and likely will always need human to add the narrative, all these AI so far are doing is reorganizing and labeling other PEOPLES creativity, billions and billions of human man hrs including the AI it self. AI take the work of human's , pre render creativity and randomly reorganizing that pre render creativity and work. What does DALLE do with out a prompt? What new style has DALLE created? These tools are powerful, allowing the billions of other people's pre developed ideas and putting it in everyone hands to apply to their ideas. its like being the director of a huge movie production company the many artist below, However at ever step the People did the work. What this will allow is for people with tiny budgets to create like people with all human creativity assisting them. Additionally movies and music industry need to go away. the centralization of any resources into the hand of a few evil middle men has always stagnated and corrupted all sectors of human existence!! So this tech will allow anyone with a good idea to create a story in some VR 3d interactive multiplayer story. IN the end nothing will really change, those with good ideas and those who go the extra miles will rise! While most will just just do nothing! When people can make most anything they want most will just make shit and issues!!
