Is this on Fairmount on the edge of nolibs/poplar-ish area? It's been a few years but I feel like I used to walk past this building all the time going between my apartment and 2nd Street. Always wanted to see the apartments in there somehow haha

I'm a transplant who roots for the Ravens primarily but that 17/18 season for the eagles was just special as a football fan. Definitely one of the best narratives in Superbowl history

Inclusionary Zoning is the type of policy you're talking about in parts of the 3rd (and 7th) districts and it's been around in those parts of Philly a few years now. Last year they voted to amend the law and it went into effect this past summer, basically turning what was an optional program that developers wanting to build in the IZ zones (parts of the districts, not the whole district) could just pay into the Housing Trust to avoid. IZ is definitely well-intentioned when it's implemented but may not necessarily help all that much, according to what I've read about it. I did a policy memo project for a class at Temple on the IZ law here in Philly, I've read a few articles about the effects of IZ on affordable housing creation in other cities and the general consensus is that it doesn't usually result in the creation of more affordable units unless the conditions are just right for the developers.

That's more of a difference of spelling and typography, the letters that look like f are actually s, it's just how a lot of things were written back then. Combined with spelling being less codified back then so you get stuff like fleepe = sleepe = sleep.

Old English, Middle English, and Modern English are technical linguistic terms and ways of categorizing the historical changes in the language

You probably saw one, they're not that uncommon. I saw a big one at dusk a couple weeks ago and have seen like a half dozen similar ones in my life. Like the real big ones that you can see breaking up, not just the tiny little streaks you see basically every night if you stare at a clear sky in a place with not a lot of light pollution for a while
