Since it's been in the news via all outlets (tv, radio, newspapers, on-line news, bulletins, notices, water cooler talk and everything else) since last fall; yes, we knew. Everyone who received at $850 relief check automatically qualiflied and there will be others who also qualify. If you don't want or need yours, Catholic Charities and other organizations provide emergency heating assistance to needy folks. HEAP assistance is slow and cumbersome to get and is often not enough to get a family through a cold winter (not disparaging HEAP, just stating how it is). They try, but don't have the staff or resources to be efficient. Other charities buy the fuel directly and have it delivered to needy families and can do it very quickly. Just a thought, in case you (or anyone else who didn't know about the $450) don't need it for fuel this winter.
