May be useful to mention what sort of engineer you are looking for. One would assume civil engineering, but maybe it is MEP, software, etc.

It all depends on what time your flight is at. We had a midday Saturday flight on Southwest and the security line was empty. 10 minutes from entering BWI to gate.
I imagine if you are flying early mornings on weekdays it may be way more of a hassle.
