Yes and not that unusual. There are a lot more neighborhoods in Columbia that aren’t part of the CA than many realize. And you can easily find this out when you’re looking as these homes will proudly state “NO HOA!!” In their listing description.

Because when someone pulls a gun on you first, usually the main options you have are to either get shot or flee. Pulling out a gun while someone is already aiming at you will resort in only one option: you getting shot.

I go into dc once a week, much better than going to Tysons Corner. I’ve been experimenting with the different routes. Columbia fortunately does have multiple commuting options, including the commuter bus which people don’t talk enough about, it’s a great service that can take you straight to DC from Colombia non stop. But regardless of commute option, I definitely wouldn’t want to do it every day…once a week is enough for me.
