Reply to What is a song that has so much emotional significance to you that you can no longer listen to it? by Lysandria
Wild Horses by The Sundays
It was the song that me and the love of my life first slow danced to when I took her to her prom.

God, as a kid I could not get enough Kenny Rogers, especially gambler. I had that 8-track on repeat until it drove my mother mad.
And Jolene is a classic. In fact I think I'm gonna hit up YT and listen to it right now.

Oh, I was an absolute spaz in my youth.
But I love music in general so I can vibe on just about anything. I mean if there was no Johnny Cash then there quite possibly would be no modern rock/metal as we know it. Hank Williams was also a big influence on a lot of American metal bands.
I just don't like the bubble gum country shit. I prefer old school stuff. Hank Williams, J. Cash, Marty Robbins, etc.

Fell asleep in class one day. The teacher and student didn't bother to wake me. Woke up in a dark room wondering wtf was going on.

Alcohol is literally poison.
According to the CDC roughly 50k people die every year from gun related deaths. Roughly 2/3 of them are suicide.
Meanwhile, there are over 150k alcohol related deaths each year. Three times as many people die from alcohol and what purpose does it serve? Does it improve social cohesion? Does it promote healthy lifestyles? What good purpose does it serve?
Can you use a beer to defend your home and your family? Can you use a bottle of whiskey to kill invasive animals that harm your livelihood and livestock?

I see.
So supporting the right of people to be able to drink alcohol means I support drunk driving deaths and deaths from alcohol abuse.
as I said, asinine.
