If you're looking for soft, moist, doughy, fried glazed doughnuts then I'd recommend Brooklyn Baking in Waterbury. They don't do a ton of flavors, they're not trendy hipster doughnuts with a pile of candy or cereal or bacon or rainbow frosting (or all of the above) on top, but they're simple and delicious. I've never had a dry doughnut there.

I second this recommendation, best pediatrician in the area by far. I moved an hour away so it's not convenient to go there anymore but I really miss him.

I worked in Watertown for years and it's fairly diverse (more so than Woodbury which is where I was living at the time). It's convenient to a lot of things and there are some decent restaurants there as well. Obviously it's unfortunately impossible to find a town without any racist shitheads, but Watertown shouldn't be too bad.

It's totally legal. Don't reward these dealers by shopping there though. Part of my job is decisioning auto loan applications, and it's infuriating watching people sign up to pay $10k+ over sticker. Not every dealer is doing this, so give your business to the ones who are sticking to MSRP. You might need to do more research and drive a little farther, but it's worth it.

Yup, happens on rt 8 all the time. I use adaptive cruise because I'm not a fan of getting speeding tickets. I'll come up on someone quickly with my cruise set to 72mph, I'll pull into the left lane to pass, and then suddenly they're accelerating while I'm pulling alongside them. I'll step on the gas to complete the pass more quickly and these idiots will try to go like 90mph just so I won't pass them- but if you get behind them again they'll just slow back down to 60. It must be exhausting thinking your ego is threatened every time someone wants to go faster than you, pathetic.

Yeah depending on the car, automatic high beams either work great or are complete garbage. My previous car was a 2018 Volvo and the auto high beams were great. You could customize their behavior in the settings menu to make them more sensitive and reactive, so in that car I was never blinding people.

My current car is the highest trim level 2022 Subaru Outback, which has auto high beams, but they are pure garbage (from a standpoint of giving a shit about other people, and not wanting to blind them). If someone isn't in a 100% straight line exactly in front of me, they're getting high beams in their face with AHB on. So I have to manually shut them off, but I'm sure a lot of drivers don't do that and are just like "meh".

Yes, there are tons of idiots who feed the bears, either on purpose or indirectly (by having bird feeders out, or putting trash out the night before collection day). Then people cry about the bears being there. They wouldn't be coming to people's houses for food if they could never find food at people's houses.

In my area there's been an ongoing issue with some a-hole from NY baiting bears and then charging tourists to check them out and take photos. Someone's going to end up getting killed as a result eventually.
