I really like Koro Koro, and they just redid the interior to make room for seating. Uncle Momo is great. Eira and Beechwood are nice cafes with good menus.

Reply to Have you checked out all the new stuff at the Jersey City Free Public Library? by edwinblanco201
I am the biggest fan of the library. A few of my favorites features:
-
Phone calls and emails when my books come in, such a kind and generous thing to do.
-
All the Children’s Activities. Miss Barbara and crew at the Main Branch are absolute gems.
-
LIBBY! I don’t feel like you guys hype Libby enough. Hoopla is cool and all for audiobooks, but I find their selection very limited. Your Libby selection is much larger (and compatible with the kindle so I get to check out eBooks and read them on my Kindle, it’s great!).

With that budget you have a lot of options. Look at Dvora, Reventment, 18 Park, Hamilton House, Portside Towers, Hudson Point, Liberty House, VYV, truly so many options.

Perfect. Skip Hoboken then and come join us in downtown JC. Great parks, good food, quant. I love living somewhere where I have a local butcher shop, fish monger, public library, great cafes, parks, etc. If you want to come visit and see for yourself, look at staying in the Westin Jersey City, Residence Inn, or Canopy. You’ll want to spend time walking along the water, and in Van Vorst and Hamilton Parks.

I would definitely recommend it. How old are you? And how much do you like a “scene”? If you’re young, and like to party, Hoboken would be fun. If you’re a little more mature, I would definitely recommend downtown Jersey City. It has a great neighborhood feel, and very convenient into NYC.

Dude, if you can’t afford to tip, you can’t afford a luxury service. You aren’t entitled to someone else’s free labor. Go get take out if you can’t spend a few extra dollars on tip.

Reply to Can I afford $2800 rent based on my financial situation by irishgirl249
I would challenge you to stay at home for at least the next 6 months. During that time, save $3,000/month. Every month. See how that feels. If you can do that, you can probably spend $2,800 in rent. Also, I don’t know where you live, but if it’s somewhere cold right now - I don’t see any reason to move out in winter. Nothing fun is happening anyway. Wait until summer when you can enjoy your freedom a bit.
