Camping gas stove for the win! Also you can make a simple burner out of an old beer/soda can and some high proof alcohol. Every winter there is a day or so where this happens to me. Honestly kinda enjoy it. I can handle no power as long as I can make coffee. No power and no coffee?? Now way bub!

Not really I work seasonally in Maine and leave in the off season because it's too lonely (also born and raised here) Maine is beautiful but not the place to meet people. Currently traveling in Colombia and meeting plenty of young like minded individuals!

Go to Portland or move elsewhere haha. I just spent 2.5 years in Bridgton area and probably met like 3 people in that age range... Most young people move elsewhere or young people have started a family and move here and are too busy to get to know new people.

Boycott big monopolies and big box stores, shop local, Protest against cmp, stop mowing your lawns, plant a garden, learn foraging and hunting, get involved with land conservation, eat local and low impact foods, buy less shit, reuse things as much as possible, take young ones hiking and camping and get them excited about the outdoors!

After 10-20 outages a year we have a generator and fuel and plenty of food, candles, batteries and water on standby. Honestly it just becomes normal... Fuck cmp!

Hydroelectric CAN be clean but quite often it causes more problems. Especially with dams blocking waterways, fish etc. Also altering the landscape/environment.
