I still like the word “flexible.”
If it were truly flexible, it would be up to the manager and their team to determine the need to be on site.
In our case, it is like you explain and the number (although not specific days) of days is mandated.

All of these execs just copy each other.
Zero creative thinking.
In days I’m forced to work from the office I simply leave my laptop in my car overnight.
I’m not spending 10 hours at the office only to pick back up at home.
Sure, I’ll work over the 16 hours I’m awake if I work from home, taking early morning and late night calls.
I’ll get my time back throughout the day in this case though!

“You guys have never delivered better results than when you worked from home over the last two years.”
“We are happy to welcome you back into the office - and it is mandatory.”
This is pretty much verbatim what we were told, and the statements really did come in that exact order.

That is nice then.
My industry / role wouldn’t allow for that unless ALL companies bought into the idea, which I frankly don’t see ever being the case.

I get that and greatly enjoyed my 4 day weeks when COVID first arrived.
It even came with the 20% pay cut which didn’t bug me.
The workload for my industry back then was reduced however so that lessened the blow.
Today we are busy again so I am not sure that having a three day weekend would be the same boon to me.
I would have the same workload over 4 days that I would have normally had over 5 days.
I would also be contacted on my fifth day due to the nature of my role.
Maybe other industries would work differently.

This sounds good until you consider that you will likely still have the 5 day workload and just have to do it over 4 days.
Is that the case?

Active AND genuine.
You can tell that it is actually him.
It is actually pretty mind boggling the more I think about it.
I especially look to him as inspiration as he was born with the same heart defect as me.
He has never felt sorry for himself (that I’ve seen) or given up!

ONLY guided tours by local Navajo.
It is Navajo land so they have their own autonomous laws.

“See these holes? They are from when the Indians and cowboys were fighting.”
“Notice how there are no more cowboys?”
I enjoyed our guide - he had a good sense of humor.
