I can't do this as the control pad is absolutely dead. Broken.

I have. I left it charge for two days. It's dead as a dodo

Right guys. So my ps4 is stuck on the update screen and my control pad has died. I have borrowed a neighbours ps4 control pad to get past this but my ps4 won recognise the control pad. I don't know how to resolve this. Can anyone help.
