That's a good idea, thanks for suggesting it. I'll bring it up at the meeting and see about inviting them for next time.

Not yet, we're just starting out as a resident organization. We should have a local journalist coming to this one though!

We'd be super happy to see you there, and we'll be there at least for the next 3 weeks, Mondays 5:30-7PM. I put a little review below.
We covered some pretty good stuff this time including:
-
particular issues around the city, nonsensical streets, lack of bus shelters, pedestrian/cyclist danger zones, etc
-
getting a discussion board up and running
-
ways to keep up with Worcester happenings, sharing knowledge and resources
-
doing collaborative agenda building for next time where we can all bring up something at the beginning to discuss
-
building a shortlist of priorities to call city counselors about and otherwise advocate for

Oh awesome! Yeah we don't have that set up yet, I've been trying not to get ahead of myself. Currently our goal is just getting on the Strong Towns Local Conversation map, which I've already been in touch with them about, but we have to start meeting to get on there.
If you can't make it but want to DM me an email we will be gathering a mailing list for when we have more going on. We also had a Discord server prototype, might get that functional, I'll let you know if so.

What else would you like to know? We're just starting up so there's not a ton of depth to our specific initiative yet. However if you want to check out strongtowns.org you can see what they're about.

If people were able to get around without needing the parking that would also help. But public transit is a joke here, barely hanging on to serve primarily those "undesirable people" who will never be able to buy into the car based transportation system.

Sadly, the city has massively overbuilt (outwards mainly) and the tax base will never justify the current infrastructure maintenance costs without an increase in economic productivity. It's a very difficult hole to climb out of, and will require some changes in management perspectives.

I like how you'd have to walk a quarter mile and across six? lanes to get past this thing on foot.

If you email the Earn-A-Bike people they usually know what's going on.

To get some people together so we can approach the city as a group with a clear message.
