I don't recall hearing about that story, but sadly I am not surprised. Most journalists and editors do their best to provide good stories, but it just takes is a one person willing to bend the truth either because they were paid off, or to fit a personal agenda or because they know someone (in this case the editor knew the accused) and all that integrity is wasted. When the truth comes out eventually it just reinforces all of the propaganda and conspiracy theories that lead so many people to believe that most/all of the profession is lying.

I probably should have phrased it as "part of the reason why", but things like this certainly help the propaganda campaigns since it serves to prove their point.

This is why so many people are convinced that the "main stream media" is lying to them and turn to conspiracy theories and fringe "news" sources for their information. While Rolling Stone isn't exactly a publication I would look to for journalism, unless it involves the world of music and entertainment, the fact that they would post a news article that is so misleading just serves to convince many people that journalists really are lying to them.

This editor needs to be fired and banned from any job related to journalism.

Many of the people who are claiming fraud in the 2020 election know it isn't true, but they are claiming it is to appease the voters who want to believe they were "robbed". It's interesting how officials are happy to say fraud exists up to the moment that they are on the official record and would be held criminally liable if they make a statement they know is false, then they suddenly do not want to talk about it or make any further comments.

There's a reason that every single official that Trump appointed who has ever looked into the fraud claims has under oath sworn that the election was valid. The only people working for Trump who are willing to claim that fraud altered the election are people who would not be at risk of going to prison if their comments turn out to be false.

Sadly this is probably exactly it. Her losing over and over just "proves" how everyone is out to get her. Q Anon is probably going in to overdrive to spin this fantasy.

Also while they are blocking traffic all those vehicles are sitting there idling, spewing the very greenhouse gases they are protesting against. If the goal is to reduce GHG emissions, forcing people to burn extra gas while they sit in a traffic jam that the activists created is achieving the exact opposite effect. And it angers a lot of people who are then less likely to support their agenda.

But they do get to pat themselves on the back and give themselves participation awards for "doing something" about a crisis that continues to go on exactly as it was the day before.

Exactly. They were/are gambling that these changes will be a bigger problem for Democratic voters than Republican voters and will help them to win the runoff.

Why bother to try to court new voters by adjusting your message to what they want when you can just prevent them from voting, or at least try to keep their votes from being counted? Isn't that what Democracy is all about?
