God damn, I'm gonna have to pull the trigger on these.... $185 for $600 headphones.... Almost too good to be true. From the limited measurements I've found, they seem to actually be really promising.

What the person below said. Because IEMs are inserted close to the eardrum, they have a much easier time achieving a correct FR. Specifically in the treble is where they benefit most. I don't know the full science behind it, but it shows up consistently.

Yep, the foam tips they come with tone down the upper registers a bit. I use them on my 2nd pair for better isolation, and having a more chill sound is nice.

You're definitely right, when something new and shiny comes out that seems to fit my preferences I'll probably whip out my credit card!!

FR and distortion are all that matter.

Technicalities do not actually exist in the "real" world. they are only the brain's subjective interpretation of the FR. They can and will vary from person to person. Ie, they are not quantifiable, just like other aspects of our brain and personal preference.

Resolution, which is part of the "technicalities" umbrella, will vary from person to person on what part of the FR improves/decreaces the sense of it. For example, elevated treble makes headphones sound "low resolution" to me. That may not be the case for everyone.

And, a +15 DB Chu would make me gouge my ears out..

Try using a Mr Clean Magic Eraser and alcohol, or with GooGone, or with acetone.
