She got kicked off her show, that's at least semi-canceled. I don't give a shit, by the way, good riddance.
It's mostly just another case of a boomer/gen-x comedian feeling aggrieved that they can't say whatever they want without consequences.

Eh, they spent 200 for the ticket, then hundreds more for travel, and who knows how much they put into the cashless currency system.
I don't know that they were rich, but they weren't poor.

Yes! I think are necessary to understand the clusterfuck that was Fyre as they both emphasize different aspects. It's also a good exercise in comparative film study.

One of my favorite parts of this documentary...or maybe it was the Hulu one, is that guy telling the story and he went from disbelief to "Ok, guess I'll take one for the team" before lucking out and not having to suck a dick for Fyrefest.
It's a crazy story, and really speaks to how hard many of the organizers were trying to save this disaster.

Agreed.
Snakes on Plane had a "cult following," up until the day it actually came out. Other movies can initially spark a lot enthusiasm but become quickly forgotten. Cult Films, usually, are slow burns where audiences discover them after the fact. Sometimes that process even takes decades.
Though, how the internet age has affected all of that is definitely up debate.

All they want is punishment, and any suggestion that puts rehabilitation first is seen as "soft on crime."

I'm of the opinion that both were fine. RO, for me, was two hours of underwhelming with underdeveloped characters saved by an amazing battle at the end.
Solo pleasant but insubstantial.
Both of these movies have a lot of love in the fan base, though, so maybe that's just me.
