Thanks! It just says “offered a renewal” and “notified of the proposed terms”

Definitely, just that any delay is helpful lol and I don’t want him expecting us to move out when our first lease ends. Thank you!

JC needs more green spaces for sure and also has amazing natural spaces that people fight for every day.
many of us who live here don’t live here just to enjoy the hard-earned benefits of a great place, we work hard to improve our community AND enjoy what’s great already. (And bitch about the problems)
A big welcome if you’d like to live here and help. If not, wishing you the best and hope you lend a hand to improvement efforts in whatever city you end up in.

Please don’t feed wild birds! A rehabber should be the one caring for the bird.

Thanks for calling! That’s good advice for baby bird season but wouldn’t be the case this time of year.

Please in the future don’t release even if they seem well! Take to Wild Bird Fund or Raptor Trust. Folks on the Jersey City Birds Facebook page would volunteer to transport the bird.

They are a problem. This post was about a different threat that kills a lot of birds and I hope people take action on one or both.

Thanks for responding! For bird proof glass, there are easy fixes that wouldn’t grind anything to a halt. I recommend American Bird Conservancy or NYC Audubon for more info. This is one area where individual actions can help, by bird proofing your windows and showing support for policies. And taking about it and raising awareness about turning off lights during spring and fall migration makes a difference.

Hi! If you ever see one on the ground, carefully approach and lift it into a paper bag. Then JC Birds (on Facebook) can help with getting the bird to a rehabber. If the bird you saw is still around, lmk and I’ll pick him up

Well it would be great to have a law like NYC does for bird proof glass. But I found this bird near a home in the Heights.

This lovely timberdoodle (aka American Woodcock) was on his way south to spend the winter gently twerking while hunting for worms.
Instead he smashed into a window and died.
These beautiful birds have a staggering courtship display, a super strange “Peent peent” call, and deserve better from us.
Please turn off your outdoor lights and draw your curtains at night to protect all our migrating feathered friends.

They stamp and turn their tail up in your direction before they spray. Give them space and warn anyone walking a dog if you see them in the area. You are extremely unlikely to get sprayed, 1000% more likely to get hit by a car as a pedestrian in that area.

Remarkable_Debate866 t1_iqxerhs wrote
Pseg is the worst. Definitely take a photo of the meters upon move in. If you can get them to email you it’s better to have a record. Tell them your next step is letting your NJ state rep (like Stack) or your city council member know if they are being truly useless.
That said I’d never seen a landlord ask for proof the services were set up before I arrived. Usually I’ve done it the day of or just after loving. Seems kinda odd to me.
