You could try asking for a return from the days you’ve been out to the end of the month by calculating the monthly rent and the days you’ve been out but I’ve never heard of any landlord giving back the deposit plus days of the month the tenant has been gone from the property.

This happened to me when I used to rent a small cottage in Newberrytown before moving to Lemoyne.

As long as all your items are gone and you’ve surrendered your keys, the landlord can do whatever they want. Even though you may have paid for X amount of days/ months, you relinquish your rights to the rental property once you no longer have possession of the keys and tell the landlord you’re all moved out. I would reach out to them now about your deposit since they have someone else moving in so quickly because that means that they’ve already inspected the property and deemed it ready for the next tenant.

I mean, we’ve owned a 3 bedroom mobile home just outside York for the last 7 years and our lot rent is under $500/ month, while a friend has a 3 bedroom apartment and pays closer to 1100 and they are in New Cumberland. We’re in a decent suburban area just off of 83 and are 20 minutes away from York/ Harrisburg/ Mechanicsburg while they’re on the Main Street above a row of businesses. I think it really all depends on location of where you are looking and what surroundings, amenities and traveling time you prefer.

Oh wow. I didn’t know about Gut rd. I used to frequent the area in high school.

Tower rd is where is was referring to in enola. I just couldn’t remember the road name. My husband and I were there often in early 2013 trying to jog labor with our daughter. (It didn’t work and she was born 10 days after my due date 😂)

Gut Rd in York Haven. There’s also mudding trails all over Enola if you’re into that.
