You can make a copy, and it will look like the original. But it will all be static, and will have basically no functionality. If this is what you are after (a skeleton which you fill out with your own content), you can do that.

Well yes, genes don’t want to do anything. But with self-replication available, the game you can play is sustained self-replication.

Evolutionary wise this would be jackpot, your genes will not only survive, but found a whole civilization (at least during the journey).

Solar tech is not about being small or thin or lightweight or efficient. It’s about cost per megajoules over its expected lifetime.
Being thin is nice, that opens up a lot of more applications, but the real bummer is being scaleablr/cheap enough to be actually chosen over other options.

Einstein was aware of this theory, and as far As I remember reading about it he thought it was interesting and worthy to investigate.
I don’t know why it stalled.

It might be the best suited one (otherwise it wouldn’t get used), but not the perfect one. It’s expensive as hell, supply is basically nonexistent, and earth is constantly evaporating Helium in the upper atmospheres.

Just creeping to the side is obviously corrected by the steering wheel. The obvious issue are the wheels each steering to different sides.
