Reply to help! how to disinfect old books? by robotapricot
The UV in sunlight is a natural disinfectant! Might fade the pages though.

Reply to Anne of Green Gables and LHOTP by Bernie_katzroy
I read both. Loved them for different reasons. Little House is definitely for a younger audience and I was more intrigued by the details of how they lived and descriptions of cooking and furniture and dresses and stuff. Anne of green gables was more about the characters and beautiful writing for me. Anne and Laura are totally both the spunky girl who always gets in trouble. Not like other girls before it was cool.

Reply to The Hobbit was a big disappointment for me by filisterr
I did not like the hobbit much, but absolutey love LOTR. the hobbit is a childrens book, its about the action with not as much character development of depth. LOTR is absolutely beautiful with it world building and character studies. Definitely give LOTR a try
