They will absolutely cover a leak that went unnoticed for a period of time. I do insurance jobs regularly, in fact I just remodeled a kitchen where a dishwasher was leaking for an extended period of time and ruined the hardwood floor and the cabinets wicked up the water. The client got 45k from their insurance to install new cabinets, granite countertops, hardwood floors etc….

25k to start, I’m a licensed plumber in the state and my cost alone for that bathroom would be about 4500 labor only. Anything less than 20-30k the contractor is prb not using licensed subs and isn’t pulling permits.

Then call your insurance company and have them pay for it.
