I’m pretty sure my autism caused the horrific bullying in school that gave me my cptsd.

Good grief, are we back in Plato’s Academy or something?

>"Delete your social media" is such an effective solution that Social Media will lie to you to make it seem incomprehensible.
That really depends on who you are though. Social media really is a huge game changer for people who can’t get out of the house for whatever reason - in particular people with disabilities, parents of young children, and the elderly, along with other marginalised groups who can have trouble connecting in person such as the queer community. “Deleting your social media” for these kinds of groups means going back to being an isolated shut-in, and that’s part of why a lot just won’t do it. Regulating algorithms is a better solution by far imo.

Don’t they usually tend to pick one person to be like this with and hate everyone else?

Reply to comment by MisterRay24 in TIL that the most expensive film ever made (both adjusted and unadjusted for inflation) is Pirates Of The Caribbean: On Stranger Tides by jrrfolkien
The book is very, very different and unrelated to the movie franchise outside of some of its plot elements (iirc Disney licensed it way back when they made the original Pirates of the Caribbean film due to the fact that they were making a pirates-with-magic movie), but very good.

The thing about the metaverse is that the whole idea was inspired by the pre-smartphone internet. It made sense when the net was a separate place that you went to from your home or office PC, but that’s not really what the net is these days.

Reply to TIL, the placenta that forms with a fetus isn't created by the mother. It grows from the fertilized egg and some fetuses actually develop outside the uterus attached to the intestines in the body cavity. by darw1nf1sh
It's also legal to eat the placenta in at least some parts of the world.
This means that you can have your baby and eat it too.
