Yup.. it's lame, hacky, and unoriginal. If you think this place sucks, I'd say leave, and go find your place, if you can't find the good here, then why stay? It's so weird people just hang about shitting on the place, but do nothing to change that. Also, I'd say the people who think CT sucks, either don't try hard enough to make it not suck, and it's mostly on them and their disposition on life in general.

I live near that area, you'll be fine. Like stated before, many in CT mind their own business and let others live their lives. Also most of us are perfectly fine with minorities as well as the LGBTQA.

More Middletown city portion. Id say Liberty ST would be the southern boundary of it, and like stack street would be the northern most part. Also the sections on the North end near the River can be rough as well. I lived down their for better part of a decade, and I can attest it can get a little interesting at times… nothing too crazy but going into it you would want to stay vigilant.

With hot takes like this, I don't know how we could possibly think only socializing children in the insular settings of thier homes is, or would be a good thing!

Schools are, and have always been about teaching more than the basics.. in fact, it's safe to say it's virtually impossible to remove social development from schools. Also you say we should be teaching them how to survive as adults.. ok, they are going to come across transgender and other LGBTQA folks in thier lives, some of them may infact be trans themselves, wouldn't a means of survival, especially for the later catagory, be a healthy and rational understanding of others and their own identities?

This makes me have a ton of questions..

What would you call that person with others in your first nations community? Also how sure are you of thier heratage? Also if they are being respectful of both the cultural significance and meaning of the term, what harm are they causing by adopting the term?

That sucks.. I used to love Cafe56 on court street for breakfast, but unfortunately it didn't survive the pandemic. In good news though the Ramen place that opened there is fucking S tier.. just ate there tonight. Get the avocado salad with the house dressing and the braised beef spicy ramen... you will not be let down.
