Yeah it’s actually a really big problem here, they eat the native trees and bird eggs and they are absolutely everywhere. Putting out traps for them is quite common and possum fur clothes are also pretty common.
As someone from New Zealand I sometimes forget that they aren’t treated as pests and the spawn of satin elsewhere in the world like they are here, it’s kind of a pity considering how adorable they can be.
