I read the article, not really sure what to say, don't threaten people with a knife outside a court?

Reply to comment by shant_jan in NYC subway booth clerks to become free-roaming station agents today by hiegel
Last time I needed them, both the OMNY readers and Metrocard machines were broken, and the guy basically shrugged and told basically said "Sucks to be You." I also remember another time when the metrocard machine took me money, then didn't put it on the card, and the lady at the booth wouldn't let me in, I ended up having to walk home.
So maybe some subset of them do what you claim they do, but as someone who "actually takes the train", many of them just sit there and shrug when you actually need help.

I was at a station where the MetroCard machines and the Omni readers were broken and the booth guy told me to get fucked. How are they going to replace that very important function?

There's also Washington Mews with cobblestone street and a handful of other places mostly in Manhattan and Brooklyn.
Then again, what's going on here happens pretty regularly so you could walk to pretty much any random part of the city and see it.

From like 1959 on St Martin's Press / Macmillan Publishing would buy empty office space when tenants would leave until by 2004 they had taken over the entire building but they left in 2019 and it's basically been empty since then.

Yea there are some, but for every one good both agent there are 20 who do less than the bare minimum.

The post above is pretty stupid, but even though H Mart is Korean they definitely sell all kinds of Asian food.

Reply to comment by dust1990 in NYC Subway Fare over last 120 years adjusted for inflation by dust1990
The Zones are hard to compare. For instance in Tokyo, on average the vast majority of the rides I took were about 160-190 yen each way, so basically $1.60-$1.90, on the Yamanote line itself the most expensive is 260 Yen. I definitely spend less money in a Month on the train in Japan than I do on the Subway.
Rides that cost more tend to go further out than the Subway system and would be more comparable to the LIRR or Metro North. But its not a perfect comparison and there are certainly specific places where it could be more, and not every train company has the same price structure.

It's a chicken and the egg problem in this case really. I stopped pre-loading my card because the bonus went away.

I'm not sure what you're talking about, the US hasn't bought new drones or weapons among what they gave to you Ukraine, they've been giving them old end-of-service life extra materials that we have laying around. And the money for SVB came from the Deposit Insurance Fund, which is a fund paid into by the banks, and also interest on government bonds, no taxpayer money has been used for this.

Yes, why would one assume that thing that constantly happens would continue to happen? A better question is what do you assume it would be different?
But I agree with the guy above, I simply don't order delivery anymore.

That is a good question, I wonder if it is just one of practicality, you don't need as many stalls in the lobby as you might upstairs.

Fair enough, as someone who regularly has to schlep to Lincoln Center from Queens, it is a pain in the ass that you can't get there without transferring no matter what.
But also, hanging out in the lobby gives you the infinite amusement of seeing old people confused by a gender neutral bathroom.
