Americans don't even want to build this stuff, it just wants the profit from building it. The government has to subsidize advanced manufacturing because no exec would make that investment in this country.

Usually when things are not necessary, they are reduced or eliminated.

OP asked about job security, not salary. I wouldn't recommend going to college to pursue a salary.

Believe it or not, there's a shortage of electrical engineers. Lots of people who can program, not enough know how to actually build and test circuits. With the increased demand for electrification and the infrastructure investments needed to bring that about, EEs will be in high demand.
There's also a growing demand for civil engineers.

Reply to LPT: A good financial habit to get into is treating money as hours of work. Ask yourself how many hours of work something would take if you buy it. The awareness of the amount of time you put into purchases helps reduce compulsive spending. by humvee911
Be careful with this, this is why people with high incomes work instead of being with their family. When you're a lawyer and you bill $1000/hr, you start looking at the opportunity cost of your kid's recital.

Huh? The record on Mt Washington (231 mph) was recorded with an anemometer in 1934.

It's just like today, they talked about freedom and liberty but really it was about not wanting to pay taxes. When farmers didn't want to pay taxes to pay for the war and rebelled, Sam Adams said they should be put to death.

Went a month ago. If you have something short, they'll tell you to go do it online. If you have something that will take longer, they'll tell you to make an appointment. I would not recommend walking in.

Reply to comment by LetMeSleepNoEleven in How highways hurt boston by Ironlining
In Boston and many other cities, neighborhoods were demolished for "urban renewal" and highways cut through them. The highways take up valuable space, make transportation infrastructure more car-dependent, and segregated neighbors along class and racial lines. Yes, 2021 > 1969, but we're still living with the repercussions of the choices our forefathers made 50+ years ago, and we need to make better choices now for the next 50 years.
