Maybe if his department didn’t have such a rich history of drunk off duty cops wrecking cars and killing themselves, or on duty cops driving 85 MPH in the right lane into a slow moving tractor trailer and… killing themselves people wouldn’t make these sorts of assumptions.

I just read that he was on duty. My comment was based on another person ‘s comment saying that he was driving home from work at the time. News is saying the other driver crossed the yellow lines and was killed.

I think he was off duty though so there won’t be any.

The bus that stops to pick up the neighbor kids DAILY ends up leaning on its horn because someone violates the bus’s stop sign.

The idea is to make roads that don’t invite speeding. So instead of wide straight roads you narrow them and add curves and speed bumps. Putting a 25 MPH sign on a road that can easily be driven at 50 MPH is a pipe dream. People don’t drive by looking at their speedometer they go the speed that they can travel comfortably. Car design keeps improving so the ride is smooth so bad driving is encouraged. Think of a grocery store parking lot. Cars and people everywhere right? Yes. But are people seriously injured or killed in grocery store parking lots? No not really. But cross the street in front of your house and you’re putting your like in jeopardy to a 1500 pound mass of metal traveling 40 miles per hour with a distracted parent in a rush behind the wheel. Make driving difficult = fewer severe accidents.

Be careful dumpster diving. People have died that way when the garbage truck has arrived when they are inside. The trucks are really quick and once they stab the lift arms into the sockets you can’t get out the side doors and you end up inside the truck in the compactor. You should bring a spotter with you.
