I’m from the Bay Area originally, I honestly think Vermonters are worse drivers. They are very good about driving safely in winter conditions, even when it’s not winter. However, I have noticed many Vermont drivers are oblivious to any other cars on the road. I regularly get pushed out of my lane, or have people pull right out in front of me and go 15 under while I am cruising at the limit making me slam my brakes. I see this sort of behavior so often it seems endemic to the state. I have even seen it within my own social circle from people who claim to be safe drivers.

This, Vermont is the only state where it's safe legally to let the public on your land. Unless you have any unmarked open pits or other obvious hazards.

If people are abusing the privileges it's time to post the land for trespassing. If anyone complains you can direct them to the rude neighbors who ruined it for everyone.

I don’t actually see the state following through on major habitability issues in Apartments, it really doesn’t shock me to see the same attitude towards lodgings for the poor. We have great protections on book in this state, but the agencies refuse to enforce the law.

A 40% reduction in wages is a constructive dismissal. You just got fired and are eligible for Unemployment. Apply for that and look for a new job.

Quality WCAX reporting here. Especially the photo of the man apparently taken with the same camera used to capture all images of ghosts and bigfoot.

A lot of the attitude towards out of Staters stems from the state becoming more and more un-affordable. People are sick of people coming up from Boston spending a fortune and making everything more expensive for everyone else. They feel like they are being pushed out of the only home they have ever known, and in fact they are. Wages do not match rent in this state, so unless you have a good job, good luck. This turns into resentment and anger towards the people who come here with money to blow.

They should build a low hanging bridge further down the road for them to get stuck on first.

Reply to Montana, a very conservative state, prohibits firing employees at will. Why doesn't Vermont have a similar law? by yhl-cis
If this was pushed here the right would cry about how it will chase all the employers out of our small state. Then if it ever managed to pass, Phil Scott would veto it.

Everyone is saying coyote but I had Pumas leave several carcass like this in my yard when I grew up in California. Cats go for necks and take the heads. Not unheard of for a Catamount to take down a deer but they prefer smaller prey or scavenging. Maybe this deer was already wounded.

Reply to Northfield's Police Chief Takes Flak for His Provocative Public Stances by BudsKind802
If there were justice in this country, any cases his department touched involving POC would at the very least be ruled a mistrial due to clear racial bias from the department. This is the same shit Oj Simpson walked free for. Instead the state will refuse to address this, and people will stay in prison regardless of clear police bias in their case.
