lots of people dont have family, dont celebrate christmas, or choose to work it because they get paid a lot. My uncle volunteers to work christmas and thanksgiving because his company pays double time up to 4 hours, and triple time anything over that. It's not the prison system, which yes, could use work. But your complaint should be with the support system before it goes as far as someone shooting another person. Prison is after the fact. All you're saying is you want him to get off scot free and get help instead. Yes he should get help. But that should come before it gets to a shooting
