You know that tunnel was closed on weekends for like 2 years in 2017 right? Whats the excuse this time?

> Anyhow, the MTA figured out there's less trash in the stations if you don't have trash cans, because (most) people will just hold on to their trash rather than throw it near/on an overfull trash can. Also, then the MTA doesn't have to empty any trash cans. A real win/win if you're the MTA and a real lose if you're a customer who wants basic services. See also: bathrooms. > >
This is false. They ran a pilot on this assumption (based on Japan) and found people were happy to throw their garbage on the tracks. Many trash cans were restored.

I have provided plenty of comment in the quarterly service they send out.
Them ignoring all that in favor of this garbage is why they need to be abolished

Best I can do for you is cut frequency again and say it's for your safety
(Real story, PATCO tried to do this a couple of years ago, they said running one train an hour instead of every 40 minutes was safer because more people would be riding each train)

This is an idiotic post. Source: Currently living in an office building that was converting to housing. Not only do I have a nice bathroom, I even have an in unit washer/dryer and dishwasher

I can think of 10 office buildings in Newark that are now housing, including one currently under construction.

Theres not much to see.
Pharmacy thats been there for years (good)
Dunkin that closes at 2
Jersey Mikes that closes at 4
Cookies that close at 6
Thats it. If the construction doors on the other food places are open, youll notice many are 6 months away from opening.

Have you taken the buses from Port Authority? Its really striking. The gate for the 107 will be 99% black. The gate next to it (Leonia) is 90% Asian. Really a case study on racial segregation in this state.

Im grateful for your comments here, just noting that the current setup means zero walk-up traffic from folks who dont work in there. It doesnt look open. I appreciated avoiding the rain though.
Which reminds me, from my walk today (9am), I would guess there was about 40% as many people in the corridor vs pre-pandemic. A little better than what I expected actually. I saw 3 people in the Dunkin, pre-covid there were 6-12 waiting usually (and there were 2 open)

Tried it this morning on the way to train. Center door still blocked off, side door open with two guards posted. They didnt say anything, but it also felt like I wasnt welcome.
On the penn side, two guards posted at podium, also zero indication it is public. No way someone who hasnt been following this thread or instagram would know they can enter.
Also noticed that three of the shops had the construction door open and there was zero progress inside. No way Farinella, Willys and the other one I forget are opening before July. Thats disappointing

Late last week, the one door had the tenants only sign and a guard posted.
If it was open, like you said, why would it have caution tapes, signs, and a guard?

The Mulberry side is still closed.
>That, and also by offering measured yet actionable and constructive feedback, pointing things out to the right people’s attention, and voting with your feet/wallet as well as your voice, sometimes things can changed quicker than you might expect.
They deleted multiple comments people left on Instagram without responding.
Including...
>They confirmed in an Instagram comment reply it would open for up to 2 hours after events finished on game dates.
That entire thread was deleted.

You do it all online on the agency website
https://www.nj.gov/grc/public/citizens/
You need to know what youre looking for, not just a general request. So for mine was something like "agreement between NJTransit and City of Newark related to Gateway Center Skybridge at Penn Station, 1968-1973"

I posted this in the chip city thread but they confirmed their hours will be 10am-6pm. Designed to exclude people who live in Newark.

They did not respond to the person who asked what the weekend hours are.

You cant ban people but you can discourage them. IE, speed bumps, mandatory right turns, one-ways that go opposite ways etc. No problem for residents but basically kills cut-through, especially the ones sent by Waze
