The Rathskellar in State College used to have troughs filled with empty beer bottles. I always felt sorry for whoever had to clean that up.

Some of the older bathrooms at Beaver Stadium (Penn State football) still have them.

I assume they only run when there's an event. And then, it's only a trickle. I bet water use is similar to a flush urinal.
