Reply to Has anyone moved out of CT because of seasonal depression? I enjoy CT but I’m only happy during June- august. by [deleted]
I think if it snowed more often the winter blues wouldn't be so bad. with snowfall comes snow clean up. you're kind of forced outside. The work of snow clearing gives a sense of satisfaction when it is complete plus the exertion is a form of exercise.

were you open and up front with your employer about this court case? I'm assuming no conviction and sentence has been handed down yet from the sound of things.

Grew up and lived in Waterford. Moved away 23 years ago. Moving back in a year or 2. I miss the shoreline. The air is very refreshing. Even if you live several miles inland one can get a sea breeze.

the wife and I did a bus trip to NYC yesterday. Left from W. Hartford. We do it all the time. Gives us opportunity to visit relatives in Manhattan instead of doing the bus trip plan if we decide to deviate from it. Very cost effective.

Reply to MANDATORY HELMET LAW by stu8163
I'm neither for nor against the helmet law but I think it is very wise to wear one. I have always worn a seatbelt even before it became mandatory. When I used to ride the helmet was always on my head. You don't have to be moving to smack your head. I'm embarrassed to say this but a helmet saved my head once. I came up to a traffic light and came to a stop but I couldn't get my foot out because a boot lace got entangled in the frame of my bike and down I went, very fast.. Smacked my head on the ground hard enough to see stars.

This doesn't apply if you're using TT online and this might not matter much because I haven't seen it myself but if you're using TT software, wait until April to send in. TT is always updating their software and there is no telling if they are updating to fix programming calculations.
We typically get a refund from the feds and have to pay CT but this year is unusual for us, we're getting a sizeable refund from CT along with a fed refund. Not sure why this year is different but I will wait until April to let things level off with TT software before sending in.

my friends and I would practice evasive maneuvers in the snow in a private parking lot. We'd purposely spin and slide the car and do what was necessary to get out of the slide or spin. was great fun and educational.

Reply to If someone in ct won a big amount on lottery, after they claim it and taxes are taken out at the lottery office, when tax time comes are you responsible to pay any more taxes on that winning? by Independent-Reach339
My wife won a big amount and reported it upon payout. Lottery Commission took out the withholding at her request. We had to report it on the annual income tax both state and fed. So whether you have withholding or not, you still have to report it because the Lottery Commission will file with IRS and CT DRS. At tax filing time you'll know whether you had enough withholding or not enough (pay or refund that is for that tax liability).

It is very possible that a high traffic area has simply worn out. The die used to color the carpet fibers has worn and that is why you don't see a difference in your cleaning attempts. My mom had this issue with a carpet that was less than 10 years old. Turned out to be a defect in manufacturing.

which seems to roughly coincide with the cops switching from using radar to laser for speed enforcement and the requirement of 2 plates instead of 1. Whether that's all related, I don't know.

that is what I do plus have a brand new mounting bracket. If I get stopped for the missing plate my excuse will be I had to get a new bracket and haven't had the chance to install it. got bracket and plate on the floor in plain sight when I'm out and about.
