Exactly, doing little things like that helps manage runoff and better maintain our water resources. When done right you might not even know it's there.

This is exactly what we do in developed nations as well. We build large artificial recharge basins, direct runoff in cities to flowerbeds designed to infiltrate water, build retention basins underneath large stadiums, etc. There are a lot of innovative techniques out there to try to get water back into the ground after you cover it in pavement and houses!

Yup, just started some work with DTE to complete remediation and closure of another mine. Concentrations of uranium in groundwater are high enough that it is economical to extract the uranium from the water . . .
It's not low demand so much as it is that the uranium deposits are harder to mine in the US (think 1000s ft deep underground mines vs. open pits) and less subsizied so that they cannot compete with cheaper imports from more accessible deposits and countries with more subsidies/lower labour's costs.

Very cool. Recently completed development of the groundwater sustainability plan for Eel River. Neat to see a picture of it rather than looking at it through Google Earth!
