My first ever EEO Complaint in the fed workforce was with dealing with a racist Asian supervisor back in my TSA days. That piece of shit tried to bait me into swinging on him at work by chucking racial remarks. He got his in multiple ways when he sexually harassed some airline employees.

Costco also got rid of their onions (and sauerkraut) for their hotdogs. We have to peel the layers of this conspiracy!

Well it's either going here, or going to the source, Japan. Visiting DC is much cheaper for people. Seeing the blossoms in Ueno Park is nice but the cost and time to get there is a bear.

Hitting up Costco, BK Miller and Restaurant Depot keeps my costs down. Also having a big chest freezer helps too.
40lb box of leg quarters for $20 has my house set for a good while.

He just started recently. Starting out at 55k according to him. The metro pension is where he will really win out when compared to FERS.

Coworker left the fedgov to drive trains for metro. It was a once in a lifetime public opening for metrorail operators and he took it. I guess driving a train is less stressful than dealing with production quotas, quality reviews and patent attorneys.

I've done it on $37k a year and lived in low income housing apartments. Check out Fort Chaplin apartments. Benning Road metro station is right down the street and you are on several bus routes as well.

Hyatt Place. My group didn't even bother with the Gaylord as they sold out with the quickness.

I learned my lesson a few years ago with the Gaylord mess. Now I just hit up Costco and load up on alcohol and food. I set up my firepit and just chill out in my backyard with a few friends to ring in the new year.

Damn, my coworker basically won the lottery out here. This is one of those "I'm kicking myself" moments. And metro is one of the last spots that has a defined benefit pension too.

$28hr after training. Not bad for a position that requires no experience to apply. If they ever open up rail positions, I'll apply.
Midnight_Morning t1_itqjd6s wrote
There was an opening a year ago. My coworker applied, took an assessment, got interviewed and just received a contingent offer from Metro. He's taking a huge pay cut to do it, but driving a train gotta be less stressful than dealing with cases.

Reply to The Metro is the reason my car stays in the garage for weeks at a time. Without it, I would be driving 3-4 days a week. How much more frequently would you be driving if it weren’t for the Metro? by SuperBethesda
I still drive. From where I live, it would take me an hour with multiple transfers to get to work for my mandatory in office day. By car? 15-20 minutes with a straight shot to the office. By bike is 30 minutes.
