I mean, maybe that's Internationally left up to interpretation, but... What IS Timeo? Is he the literal embodiment of fear or smth new?
At first I thought he'd be like... A fear not of primal things (monsters, i.e. predators in the dark...) but created by existential dread through modern society. (social anxiety, fear of failure, academic pressure...)
And I thought he'd be fear inducing to the monsters because he makes children not afraid of things you can overcome, but of smth that might stick with them for their entire life

Well it's not an infinitive, isn't it? Timere would be the infinitive, while timeo is 1st person singular, or like the user above me pointed out, "I fear"...
