I wouldn’t worry about that. We see out of state plates all the time. Hell, the Staties are barely cracking down on people who dodge taxes by registering their cars in ME, while thier primary residence is still in CT.

Obligatory welcome to CT, I hope your move goes smoothly :)

To apply for a pistol permit:

  1. Take the NRA Basic Pistol Course
  2. Go to your local Police Department and request an application. They'll give you the application packet, and set a time for fingerprints. The PD may also interview you, though this varies by town.
  3. Submit your completed application, fingerprints, NRA certificate, and checks/money order to your local PD.
  4. Wait. A lot.
  5. If approved, the town PD will mail you a "Temporary Permit", which is good for only one thing...
  6. Take your Temporary Permit to the State Troopers/DESPP, and they will give you a (state) Pistol Permit.

I'll also second the mention of r/CTguns.

I switched to Connex Credit Union back in September. Was not thrilled about about the M&T acquisition, and frankly, most big banks could do a lot better for their customers...

With that said, a lot of Credit Unions are smaller operations. Their hours and locations aren't always convenient, but you generally do get a more personal touch when you do walk in or call and talk to someone. You're definitely less of a "barcode/account no." than you would be at Bank of America or something.
If you're looking to buy a house than you should defiently ask whatever Credit Union you go with about rates...most of them can give their members (customers) killer rates on loans and mortgages.
