My guess is because he lost his believe in God.
He said he is going to do gods job for him. That in itself is heresy as it implies you are better than God.

I mean that depends on where you live. Over here in Germany we do not have open land.
The only way you are putting solar on open land is by removing farming areas or by cutting down forest.

It is slower than our learned language. But the aliens also used a learned language. It would take a long fucking time but could work.

Sure shit can do.
I want you to put screw somewhere. I point at the screwdriver. I point at where i want the hole to be. I make a motion of where to drill and you set out to do it.

So our facial movements no?
Like we have pretty universal communication with pointing, smiling, snarling, crying, etc.
Oww sounds the exact same in every language.

Most likely you'd basically have people work what they can with an extremely strong ghetto building.
1/7 of the people will be Chinese, 1/7 will be Indian.
Every city will have thousands of them who will find together.
The Northern and Western Europeans and the North Americans would likely also be a huge cluster as they'd make for another 1/7 and should be able to communicate quite well in English.
Aviability of common language will be a massive advantage. Many Indians might work together with the Europeans and Americans essentially.
The biggest thing will be, where will people want to go. If you are from a very poor region and you wake up in a rich region, will you be ready to leave. Who will make you leave? There will likely be fewer of the people from that region there than from poor regions.
Due to the complete breakdown of governments you might have completely new countries forming and a shuffling of where wealth is concentrated.

This is like super terrifying.
Like imagine all the people waking up as military.
People from all over the world having access to military equipment.
Complete breakdown of government services.

Well that is terrifying. The pilot doesnt know how to fly. The people at the tower don't know how their stuff works.
The authorities have no idea where anyone is or even the time to care for this.

Except for the "Staying safe of other things" part this could be the "Imaginary Number School District" in To Aru.
Also known as the "Ith School District", "City of Shimmers" or "Mirage City"

The net worth of top billionaires is just something else.
Going from 2017 to 2018 Bezos made more than 8 million per hour. More money than most people will make in their lifetime. Hell you could add together what my mother, father, sister and I will earn in our lifetime and it wouldnt reach Bezos' hourly income.
During that year he made as much money as the GDP of Ethiopia with a population of 100 million people.
The entire output of these 100 million people was less than Bezos' income.

In "Defiance of the Fall" there is the all controlling entity of the multiverse, on earth referred to as The System, though most species call it "The Ruthless Heavens".
One species called Stargazers tend to work for the System and they are most notably known that one of them married a star, which made them the butt of all jokes. Though they do defend themselves that said Stargazer is still happily married for 4.3 million years now.

Reply to [OT] Writing humor, whether as just to lighten the mood of the current situation happening in the text or just as comedy. What has made you laugh that much that you had to pause the reading? by Aftel43
There were several things. But I still recall one Audiobook that almost killed me cuz I was laughing so hard I almost crashed my car.
The book was book 4 of "This Triology is Broken" (I believe the book was "This quest is bullshit")
So there was an issue in the capital that nobody could get any flour to bake anything, except for Muffins that the bakers sold. It came out someone was secretly producing muffins and that someone probably prevented everyone from getting flours.
So the main character captures this dude secretly transporting flour somewhere. And she just absolutely threatens the shit out of him. And then menacing af she ends it with "Tell me! Where. Is. The. Muffin Man!"
I just lost it at that point.
